Seasoning Your Foods in a Gluten Free Diet
July 17th, 2010 by admin
If you like to season your food to taste be sure that the choices you make are gluten free if your digestive system cannot handle the effects of gluten products. When working within the constraints of a Gluten Free Diet, seasonings such as herbs, cream of tartar, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and pepper can all be used in and on your food. Some seasonings that may contain gluten are curry powder, meat extracts and seasoning mixes, such as taco season mix. Stay completely away from brewer’s yeast, synthetic pepper, molasses and yeast extracts that contain barley. You should keep a list handy to be sure that when you are cooking, you don’t put the wrong ingredients in your foods.
