A Eulogy for a Mother Who Went So Much Farther
January 26th, 2010 by admin
I spent much of my childhood at home in my room because of a rare auto-immune disease. My mom became my teacher as well as my playmate, and the bonds we formed were even stronger because of my forced confinement. Gradually my body became strong enough to handle the real world, and I tentatively wandered out to see what I had missed. I always knew that Mom was at home should I need to retreat. That was so many years ago. Tomorrow I will be giving a eulogy for this amazing woman who was so much more than just a mother to me. I will be paying tribute to my teacher, my nurse, and my best friend as well.
