Short City Breaks in London
July 1st, 2010 by admin
More and more people choose shorter weekend breaks these days, instead of longer holidays. The reason might be financial, or perhaps we just start to discover our great countryside again, where is so much to see and do. You will see that you don’t have to spend a fortune on fancy vacations abroad to have a good time. Next time you are thinking about a weekend getaway, try one of these easy-to-reach destinations: You can take the opportunity to see the prehistoric earthworks of Stonehenge erected approximately in 3100 BC, to visit Stratford-upon-Avon – the birthplace of William Shakespeare in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, or to learn the history of the nearby Warwick castle, with several Medieval festivals taking place on its premises. Other interesting sites include Legoland (and the real) Windsor, where especially the kids will have a blast, the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham housing 60 displays featuring various species from all over the world, and the Chessington World of Adventures combining a zoo and a theme park.
